Passionate about creating remarkable and effective visual communication strategies for print and digital media. Currently the Creative & Managing Director of GenioGraphics, a two decade-old design agency based in Makati City, Philippines, I have helped small to medium sized clients like House of Minis, Fire Lake Grill, Lyceum of the Philippines University and also a host of multinational companies such as Sun Life Financial, Chinatrust, and Internationa Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI). While I’m a multidisciplinary designer with works ranging from brand identities to enviromental graphics, annual reports, and interactive media, my main expertise is in the area of editorial design.

“As a photographer, speaking the same language as the person using my photos gives me an edge. Knowing, understanding how and where my images will be used help me create better photos.”

“Contrast is what makes an image or design solution strong and interesting. A visual design without the right amount of contrast is a stale visual communication solution.”

My passion for creating remarkable and effective visual communication drove me to engage in photography. Capitalizing on my early interest and exposure to photography through my father, a photojournalist, I have successfully blended the disciplines of photography with graphic design, giving me a great advantage as a photographer.

Most of my photographic focus are in the area of Corporate and Culinary photography. My approach to photography: creative and artistic lighting with the right amount of contrast. I believe that contrast—whether visual or non-visual—is what makes an image or any design solution strong and interesting. A visual design without the right amount of contrast is a stale visual communication solution.
